Our product team has been working hard behind the scenes on what’s coming next for the Tembo app, and it's now time to show the results.

The older version of the app received loads of positive feedback from customers for its unique design and simplicity. We wanted to retain its charm and individuality for that reason while aligning it more with the Tembo brand and vision. So we reviewed all the feedback from customers over the years and selected a few key areas where the app could be improved.

Here’s a quick summary of the main changes:

A revamped home screen with all the core account info you need in a quick glance

  • Clearer account balance, so you know exactly where you stand as soon as you open the app

  • A new way to easily top-up your account using the new "Add money" button front-and-centre

  • Quickly manage upcoming direct debits with just one tap straight from the home screen.

  • Customers who are transferring over to Tembo can now view a timeline of their transfer request and access all parts of the app.

A new look and feel to the Account screen

  • Your account screen no longer lives on the bottom navigation bar to free up space for other key areas of the app. Instead, we've added ‘My Allowances’ to the home screen. Click into each account for specific actions, like seeing recent activity such as bonus payments.

  • Easily see how much of this year's tax allowances you’ve used (so you’re not missing out on free money!) as well as a breakdown of your total earnings by bonus and interest earnings.

An updated Mortgage tab

  • Our mortgage tab shows your maximum budget in a matter of seconds. But it’s not just your typical mortgage calculator. Tembo is a multi-award winning mortgage broker specialising in maximising affordability meaning you’ll get results for standard mortgages but also budget-boosting schemes too.

  • Over half of our savers use this feature on a regular basis so we’ve kept it, but with an up-to-date look and feel to match our new design.

  • The new mortgages tab remains front and centre on the bottom navigation bar, so it’s easy to find

An expanded Learn tab

Our learn tab is the place to get educated on all things mortgages and savings. We’ve added new elements to make it even better including a search bar, easy-to-access mortgage tools to help you get to grips with your affordability and even more handy guides.
