The tax year ends on the 5th April 2026, so you need to make sure any money you want to put into your Lifetime ISA or Cash ISA is processed by then. The 5th April 2026 is a Sunday, so the last date you can transfer money into your Lifetime ISA or Cash ISA is before the 5th of April. If you want to add money via a monthly direct debit, your last date for these funds to be processed could be the week before the tax year ends.
For example, last tax year Tembo savers with the Tembo Lifetime ISA or Cash ISA had until the 5th April 2025 to add money to their account as a one-off contribution so it could be processed by the tax year end. For new monthly direct debits, these needed to be made by the 26th March 2025, or edit the amount or change the date of an existing one. That’s because the last direct debit collection date for Lifetime ISAs for the last tax year was the 1st April 2025. For Cash ISA monthly direct debits, the last date a customer could have set up a brand new direct debit, or edit the amount or change the date of an existing one for the last tax year was 4th April 2025.
For the 2025/2026 tax year, we will communicate with customers in plenty of time what the deadlines are for this year. Although the tax year doesn't technically end until the 5th April, these deadlines mean we can make sure we have time to process and log your ISA payments for this tax year. Any payments made after these deadlines won't be processed before tax year end.

What happens if my Lifetime ISA bonus arrives after April 6th?
Your bonus takes 4-6 weeks to actually land in your account, but providing you made the contribution before the 5th April, it won't impact your 2025/2026 allowance. That's because the allowance is tied to the date the funds are paid in, not the date your bonus lands.
