Tax year end deadlines for your Tembo Lifetime ISA

The 2025/2026 tax year ends on 5 April 2026.

To make sure your contribution counts for this tax year, you need to add money to your Tembo Lifetime ISA before:

πŸ‘‰ 9pm on Sunday 5 April 2026

Any contributions made after this time will count towards the 2026/2027 tax year instead.

What about monthly direct debits?

If you contribute by monthly direct debit, the final collection date for this tax year is Wednesday 1 April 2026.

Direct debits must reach Tembo by this date, and it will take one working day to process, meaning the contribution will be applied to your LISA on Thursday 2 April 2026. The deadline falls slightly earlier this year as Friday 3 April is a bank holiday, which reduces the available processing days before the end of the tax year.

πŸ‘‰ You can amend the date or amount of your direct debit (or skip it) through the app up to 3 working days before the payment date. Direct debits can be skipped for up to 3 months at a time, or cancelled entirely - just make sure any changes are made before the 3 working day cut-off prior to the payment date.

Why is there a deadline?

Although the tax year officially ends at midnight on 5 April 2026, we set processing deadlines to make sure all ISA contributions are successfully received and logged within the correct tax year.

What happens if my LISA bonus arrives after 6 April?

Your Lifetime ISA bonus usually arrives 4–6 weeks after you make a contribution.

Don’t worry - this won’t affect your allowance.

As long as your contribution was made before the 5 April deadline, it will count towards your 2025/2026 Lifetime ISA allowance, even if the government bonus arrives later.
