You can skip your direct debit for up to three months at a time if you need a break.
If you need to stop your payments for more than three months, you can always cancel your direct debit and re-set it up anytime.
While your direct debit is paused, you wont be able to do anything but resume your payments. If you want to cancel your direct debit while its paused, you'll need to resume payments and then cancel them.
If a payment is missed, banks will usually retry the payment on the same business day, the precise time the payment retries will depend on the bank.
If you miss a direct debit, you'll need to make other arrangements to deposit into your account on that particular month. We won't retry your direct debit again until next month.
