How HomeSaver™ helps you

Unlike a standard savings account, HomeSaver™ is built with one goal: making home happen. It offers a market-leading 5.75% AER (Variable) when including conditional bonuses, giving your savings a significant boost during the crucial first 12 months of your journey.

Who can open an account?

To be eligible for a HomeSaver™ account, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be aged 18 or over.

  • Be a tax resident in the UK only.

  • Not be a US Citizen.

  • Have a UK home address, a National Insurance number, and a valid email address.

Key account features

  • Maximum balance: You can save up to £25,000 (excluding any interest earned).

  • Flexibility: You can withdraw your money at any time through the Tembo app. There are no limits on the number of withdrawals you can make.

  • Minimum withdrawal: The minimum amount you can withdraw is £10 (or your full remaining balance if it is less than £10).

  • Linked account: For security, funds must be withdrawn into a UK personal current account in your sole name that is linked to your Tembo app.

How we keep your money safe

Your eligible deposits are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £120,000 per person, per authorised bank.

We hold your money "on trust" with established UK banks (currently Lloyds Bank Plc). This means your savings are kept entirely separate from Tembo's own money, ensuring your funds are always protected and accounted for.

We’re here to guide you

If you’re unsure if the HomeSaver™ is the right fit for your home-buying plan, our team is here to help. You can reach us securely via the app chat or through the live chat button in the bottom right corner of our website and Help Centre.
