You can see if your friends have completed their referrals by going to “My referrals’ in the Tembo app. Here, you’ll also be able to see which friends still need to finish setting up and funding their Tembo account - and how many days they have left to do this.

If you know your friend has completed all the steps, but you still see the referral marked as pending in app, don’t worry.

The most common reason for this is that they have made a payment very recently. By the next working day, payments should have been allocated and the referral will move to complete. Alternatively, if their transfer is in progress, you’ll need to wait for the transfer from their old provider to complete, which can take a few weeks.

When this is processed your referral moves to Completed. If it’s been more than a week since you believe your friend completed their referral, get in contact with our savings team. You can do this via our online and in-app chat, or via email at [email protected].

Please note, the approval process can take up to 60 days before your referral payment is made, this is to make sure your referral is valid as per the terms and conditions.
