My friend has completed the steps but their referral still shows as pending

You can see if your friends have completed their referrals by going to “My referrals’ in the Tembo app. Here, you’ll also be able to see which friends still need to finish setting up and funding their Tembo account - and how many days they have left to do this.

If you know your friend has completed all the steps, but you still see the referral marked as pending in app, don’t worry.

The most common reason for this is that they have made a payment very recently. By the next working day, payments should have been allocated and the referral will move to complete. Alternatively, if their transfer is in progress, you’ll need to wait for the transfer from their old provider to complete, which can take a few weeks.

If your friend used your referral link but they’re not showing in your referrals, it usually means one of the steps in the process wasn’t completed correctly. Our referral system is fully automated, so we’re unable to make manual adjustments or accept appeals. In most cases, the issue is down to the reward not being claimed before your friend signed up, an incorrect or mistyped email address, or the referral conditions not being fully met.

Please note, the approval process can take up to 60 days before your referral payment is made, this is to make sure your referral is valid as per the terms and conditions.
