My friend has completed the steps, but the referral still shows as ‘Pending’

If your friend has signed up but the status is still ‘Pending’, it usually means one of the eligibility milestones hasn’t been reached yet. Most often, this is because one of the accounts is still waiting for its balance to hit the £500 minimum.

The ‘Pending’ Checklist

For a referral to move to the next stage, the system looks for two things:

  1. Account Type: Your friend must have opened a Tembo Cash ISA or Lifetime ISA.

  2. The £500 Balance: Both you and your friend must have at least £500 in your accounts. If your friend has deposited money but it hasn't cleared yet (which can take a few days), the status will remain ‘Pending’.

When will it update?

As soon as both accounts meet the £500 requirement and stay there, the status will automatically move to the ‘Pending Approval’ stage (our final 60-day validation window).

Next steps

Ask your friend to check that their funds have fully cleared in their Tembo app. If everything looks correct on both ends and it’s still pending after 48 hours, give our team a shout in the chat.
