Why is my referral showing as rejected?

If you've referred a friend to our savings app, you'll be able to check on the progress of those referrals within the Tembo app.

If a referral shows as 'Rejected - ineligible', it means it doesn't meet our Terms & Conditions, and therefore isn't eligible for a reward.

There are a few reasons this may happen, but it's most likely because:

  • The referee was already a Tembo savings customer (or had held an account with us in the past)

  • The referrer or referee no longer has an active account

  • The referrer or referee has a balance of below £500 in their Tembo Cash ISA or Lifetime ISA account - it takes up to 48 hours for funds to be confirmed

  • The referee has opened a Tembo Fixed Rate Cash ISA account, which is excluded from our referral scheme.
