How to Request the Removal of Your Data and Stop Receiving Emails from Tembo

If you wish to stop receiving emails, marketing communications, or have your personal data removed from Tembo's system, follow the steps below.

Requesting Data Deletion

  1. Submit a Request: Contact Tembo to request the removal of your data. Ensure you provide the email address or details associated with your account. This process applies even if you never officially created an account with Tembo.

  2. Processing Timeframe: Once your request is received, your data will be processed for removal. The standard timeline for completing the request is within 30 days.

  3. Confirmation of Removal: You will receive confirmation once Tembo has completed processing your request. If you are unsubscribing from marketing emails, this confirmation may be provided as an initial step.

Special Scenarios and Considerations

For Marketing Communications

  • If you only wish to stop receiving marketing communications, specify this in your request. Tembo can remove you from marketing lists while retaining necessary data for compliance purposes. You can also click 'Unsubscribe from marketing' in our emails if you want to do this yourself.

Account Closure and Final Data Deletion

  • If you have an active Tembo account such as a Cash ISA, you may need to close the account to ensure complete data removal and cessation of communication.

  • After account closure, any remaining personal data will be deleted, except for information Tembo must retain to comply with financial or regulatory laws.

Troubleshooting Email Issues

If you updated or deleted your email in Tembo but continue receiving emails, this could be due to cached application data. To resolve this:

  • Reinstall the Tembo app.

  • Log in with your updated email to clear cached information. If the issue persists, contact Tembo to confirm system synchronisation.
